This site has been gaining some popularity but I want to make sure everyone has it in their "favorites"! www.fallingfruit.orgThis website catalogs and maps edible plants and trees growing in public and private spaces across the world. This can be a great way to find some unique, heritage and/or local hardy plants in your neighborhood! I used it to find a spectacular old peach tree (in a climate not especially suited for growing peaches) with really beautiful fruit. I've already spoken to the owner and they have given me permission to take some soft-wood cuttings this coming spring. There is also a lot of opportunity here for seed collectors/breeders looking to boost their genetic diversity. Happy hunting!
