I tried several times to grow goumi from seed (I only have access to bought seeds) and failed. Anyone an idea? I cold stratified them in the fridge in sand once and in coffee filter. Sometimes you want a plant urgently and if you have it you only find it not that great - this happened to me with buckthorn (tiny berries)

No idea about goumi per se but haskap needs to be frozen for a while. I bought some frozen fruit and saved some seed, it germinated quite well. Perhaps goumi is the same? Wondering about aronia as well.

Goumi seeds need cold stratification 6-12 weeks in freezer. Seeds should be fresh, older seeds germinate badly. After stratification plant seeds to container, keep them humid. Goumi takes time to germinate. some germinated in 1 month some might take 2 years. I planted my seeds to container few days ago after 9 weeks of stratification. Stratification is needed on most cold hardy shrubs or trees.
